Ok, I have this weird vision sometimes. lol. I have a vision of Jesus coming back to earth, not as a "rapture" like the fundies want but just as a man, like before and this time his mission is to clean up televangelism and the religious right.
How long would it take for Jesus to rip through Focus on the Family or a Benny Hinn crusade tearing up all of the money and shit before Dobson's and Hinn's security detail take him out with a high powered rifle? lol
Maybe I should make a video game around this concept. lol.
But seriously, if Jesus came back today he'd curse Falwell and Dobson and the rest of the scum.
I can almost hear it now:
"Jerry Falwell, YOU are the reason 9/11 happened! You and your fanatical religious beliefs that make people insane enough to kill!"
lol

Re: Jesus and the Religious Right
Tue, June 14, 2005 - 12:22 AM. . . Or Jesus could talk to those who'd seem to have a chance because they listen?
I mean, on a loosely 'Jesus: the original hippie' note, it would seem more likely that the peace-chanting dude would not curse anyone. At best, there would be a little provocation to 'cast the first stone'. My buddy JC would surely do it in questioning and not to humor opposition to Dobson or Hinn. To do that would defeat one's (Jesus') purpose of showing that every individual must assume their own responsibilities while supporting each other as individuals. -

Re: Jesus and the Religious Right
Tue, February 14, 2006 - 10:59 AMif you read his the new testament you see he gave the law to the prideful, angry, selfrighteouss religious people. He put them on Blast!!!! hoe they were more worried about appearances than reality. God looks at the heart. He knows your intentions your motivations. jesus was always kind and loving to the broken weary and oppressed...he came to lift them up..the abused, the addicted, the angry.the depressed
read the beatttudes and it tell it all how different his teachings are from the world.

Re: Jesus and the Religious Right
Sat, June 23, 2007 - 7:15 PMJudging from the number of pictures here that seem to have come from my web site, http://LiberalsLikeChrist.Org/ my guess is that the founder is familiar with us. I don't know why he or she would recommend our site, which is the very first one that comes up if you Google "Christ & Liberals" or several other common terms of interest to people here.
I also wonder why there is no reference to the great www.atheists-for-jesus.com/ site, that has been around for a long time, just as we have. They have been recoomending US, and we have been recommending THEM for years.
Rev. Ray Dubuque, creator of
- http://www.LiberalsLikeChrist.Org which shows why Liberal Democrats are more like Christ than are Conservative Republicans &
- http://JesusNoRepublican.Org which shows how UNLIKE Jesus Christ the devotees of the Republican Party are; &.and now
- a great new public Bulletin Board at http://LiberalsLikeChrist.Org/forum .
P.S. I'm new to "tribe" and I find it extremely user unfriendly. I chose the format of our new forum because it was so easy for people to relate to from their first visit.

Re: Jesus and the Religiously addicted selfrighteous
Tue, February 14, 2006 - 10:52 AMwhat a lot of the church does and the bible says to do is ammmmmmmmmmajor casm of selfrighteous, self absorbed narciscistic, misenthropic kakie doodie poopie. we break the commandment of love continuously. FORGIVE me ,my sisters and brothers from other mothers.....Jesus rocked the boat of the extremely religious. Many have a religious addiction...they get an emotional high from feeling above you and i......i call them balcony people.....their up their in the balcony looking at the inferior ....only problem...the bible says that all have sinned...All and fall short of the glory of God.It is a tool of the ENEMY,LUCIFER,SATAN,...BELZUBUB TO GET christians who have toxic faith to act live respond like pharisses ,full of pride...which is fear........................the challenge is to look past that circus to the truth of Jesus 's teachings......I dont like labels ....i rock the boat in my own church sometimes, but i believe authority comes from a spirit of love without conditions for all period!!!!! LET IT BE SO ,AMEN.

Re: Jesus and the Religious Right
Tue, February 14, 2006 - 11:04 AMI believe jesus would rebuke them....a strong warning. the rain falls on the just and the un just. God loves us all. It is a commandment to love God,then love your neighbor as yourself wich can be challenging. A lot of christians fail to acknowledge they still have a sin nature that rebels against god.
